According to the approach of Waldorf pedagogy we operate a school where our children
- are educated in Christian spirituality,
- stand on the firm grounds of our traditional values,
- evolve their own potentials,
- get modern and useful knowledge.
By the time they are 14 years old, they will learn to perceive, create, work with the living and lifeless world and live happily with themselves."

In the Waldorf schools children learn the major subjects requiring elaboration in blocks 3-4 weeks, epochs. This applies to the so-called "main-education", which includes two full classes starting at 8.00 and finishing at 9.45. The main-education classes are followed by technical and art subjects: from grade 1 two foreign languages (English and German), physical education, painting, eurhythmics, folk dance, music, Biblical studies, needlework and handicraft.
Our classes are interlaced by practical and artistic elements as knowledge experienced in practice is the longest-lasting. The constantly growing knowledge and the thriving inner powers will establish the ground for thinking together. In our school a privileged art is the art of movement.
After the Morning Prayer songs and flutes are intoned. Within the scope of the school we offer piano lessons; we give home concerts in every term.
Language teaching is conducted similarly to how children learn their own mother tongue. The early, playful foreign language teaching is fortunate, because children can imitate very well and their organs of speech are easy to shape for acquiring proper pronunciation.
The most important person of the pedagogical work is the class teacher, who is a constant, fix point of the children's lives and the true source of the knowledge to be learnt. Optimally, they see through their class for eight years; at the beginning they teach every main subject, later more and more technical teachers help their work.
In our school there is an intensive, personal relationship between the children, their teacher and the parents. In our evaluation system this individuality prevails instead of the impersonal and factual marks.
Parents are continuously informed on their children's everyday progress; they get a long, written certificate at every year end. The teacher writes a certificate poem, too as a complement to the evaluation.

Our school in Debrecen-Kismacs stands on a nice, grass-covered area planted with fruit trees with a vegetable garden and a sport yard attached to it. Children get to school by school buses with supervision or in local buses.
The parents are the maintainers of the school. Our school was established by the Free Pedagogical Association founded by the parents in 1996. In the summer of 2003 the "Good Rhythm" Foundation for Artistic Education took over the maintainer duties. The assignment of the maintainer public organization is to ensure the necessary financial and material conditions for operation, which consists of state normative support, parental and other donations and tender sources. The maintaining foundation signs a contract with the children's parents coming to our school on the pedagogical and financial conditions.
How can your child become a member of our school?
We hold a parents' evening session for the inquirers. If the family accepts our pedagogical values, the child can get acquainted with the school and the class teacher.
